Marina & Luxury Accommodation - Boathouse & Birks RIver House
In 1910, Napier Birks built two significant stone houses on an elevated site at Goolwa overlooking the River Murray, his private marina, boathouse and slipway. He surrounded these houses with acres of trees and terraced gardens, then called this special place BIRKS HARBOUR.
In 2001, the caretaker’s cottage, marina and BOATHOUSE were transformed into one of the regions most highly regarded accommodation destinations. In 2009, Napier Birks original house and gardens were completely renovated with an uncompromising commitment to quality, then renamed BIRKS RIVER HOUSE.
With the MARINA, the BOATHOUSE and BIRKS RIVER HOUSE back together, Birks Harbour is once again as fine a river precinct as one could hope to find.
Acres of gardens, majestic trees, birdlife, peaceful private setting, a large swimming pool, luxury furniture, fittings, maritime antiques and artwork, in a picturesque waterfront location with classic wooden boats on their moorings creates a rare and special environment that is available as premium accommodation.
The size of the grounds and gardens allow us to accommodate from two to eight guests in absolute luxury and privacy.
