Tourism Industry Development Project

This one year development program is aimed at businesses who have a capacity to grow. Interactive workshops providing skills in business management and project development will be provided by suitably skilled mentors. Group mentoring and training will be provided to clusters of businesses to develop quality packages to increase their capacity. One on one mentoring will be provided to cluster participants to assist skills development.

Skills Development for Women

A large percentage of tourism businesses in the region are managed by women. This program will enable women in the tourism sector to develop support networks and provide access to ongoing sources of information and advice.

Project Objectives

  • To increase the management capability of tourism businesses
  • To increase the capacity of tourism businesses through group and individual mentoring
  • To increase the quality of tourism businesses through greater uptake of tourism accreditation processes
  • To increase the turnover and profitability of tourism businesses
  • Create additional employment opportunities in the industry and regions
  • To increase the linkages and market opportunities between Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island tourism businesses.

This program will be delivered to a minimum of 40 small to medium size regional businesses across the region and businesses will be invited to participate and address the selection criteria for the program.
